A one day workshop - St Kilda
Mindfulness is a state of calm reached by learning how to manage your awareness of the present moment while accepting your current state of emotions and bodily sensations. Stress management, clarity of thought, better health – these are some of the benefits research has found in the practice of mindfulness. This three part program will introduce you to the fundamentals of mindfulness for adults and children and then build on this understanding to focus on the strategies required to teach them. Techniques for children with ADD and ADHD will also be discussed.  Suitable for teachers Prep to 12.

About the Presenter Kate Cooper
With a background of over 25 years of experience as a psychologist Kate specialises in training that helps people tackle the complex challenges to their physical and psychological health. She has worked as a mediator, counsellor, trauma manager, facilitator and public speaker. Her work has been across Education, corporate and not for profit sectors such as beyondblue.
Workshops in areas such as mindfulness, anxiety, depression, sleeping better, stress management, neuroscience and resilience have been engaging and filled with ideas participants can immediately apply to their work and to their own life.
​Kate has presented mindfulness to a diverse range of organisations from the Victorian Supreme Court, to the Glen Eira Council.

​As a professional communicator, she is passionate about maximising benefits to participants and ensuring they experience an optimum learning environment in all of her professional development workshops.

Kate is a member of the Victorian Psychologists Registration Board and a Member of the Australian Psychological Society.
