Quality Sleep for Senior Students - For Year 11 & 12
A Session for your Students
Teenagers are one of the most sleep deprived groups in our society. Many teenagers themselves report concern about their sleeping habits but don’t know what steps to take that could help them feel better. Poor sleep can affect student behaviour, mood, learning ability to concentrate and focus, and physical and mental health. In addition young drivers age 25 or under cause more than one-half of fall-asleep car accidents.

Wellington Secondary College
'Quality Sleep for Senior Students'

Wellington SC started the school year for their Year 12 students with gusto, hosting a 'JumpStart Program' for their Year 12 students. As part of the 2 day program, Kate Cooper, Psychologist & Speaker, presented a one hour session on how students can get quality sleep in the all important senior years.

What did students and staff say about this session:

The 'Quality Sleep for Students' session was not only valuable to all the students but it taught the teachers a few more things they didn't know. Definitely a good use of time, packed with information most, if not all the studetns had never heard before...a fantastic session, especially to kick start the year for us seniors.'

Kurian Tran, Year 12.

'Kate Cooper's presentation on 'Quality Sleep for Senior Students' was extremely interesting and offered practical, easy-to-follow advice for the future. Both teachers and students walked away with several techniques to improve their sleep, and an understanding of why sleep is so important. As a Year 12 Psychology teacher, I saw many references to information in the current study design for U3/4, and was provided with further references and points of interest for teaching.'
Elly Dryburgh, Year 12 coordinator & Yr 12 Psychology teacher.
